Depending on the features you use, RIBMA may collect:
Payment information such as full credit card numbers is processed by the relevant payment provider (Paddle for purchases on our website, or the store operator for purchases through an app store (Google Play Store or the App Store)). We do not directly collect or store full payment card numbers.
RIBMA does not require you, as a condition of using the service, to submit the contents of your personal thoughts, emotions, recognition notes, or similar private reflections to our servers. If we later introduce a feature that stores such content on a server, we will provide appropriate notice and update this Privacy Policy before such collection begins.
Microphone and voice input
RIBMA does not use the microphone. The app has no feature that records or recognizes speech, and your voice is never sent to our servers or to any third party by RIBMA.
You may enter text in the journaling fields using the voice-input feature of your device's keyboard. In that case, converting speech to text is performed by the keyboard or OS provider (such as Apple or Google), and that processing is governed by the provider's own privacy policy. RIBMA receives only the converted text, which is stored solely on your device (in browser local storage).
We may use personal information to:
As a design principle, RIBMA is not intended to use a user’s personal difficulties, emotions, or psychological state for manipulative advertising or behavioral profiling.
Paid RIBMA transactions are processed through Paddle.
Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction and handles payment processing, applicable sales taxes, receipts or invoicing, refunds, and related transaction matters.
Personal information collected directly by Paddle is governed by Paddle’s own privacy notices and terms.
The statements about Paddle above apply to purchases made on our website (https://ribma.jp).
If you purchase through an app store (Google Play Store or the App Store), payment is processed by the store operator (Google or Apple), and we do not directly receive payment details such as your name on card or card number. We may receive information about your order or purchase status from the store to the extent necessary for purchase confirmation, support, and legal compliance. Personal information collected by the store is governed by Google's or Apple's privacy policy.
We may use service providers to operate RIBMA, including:
We select service providers with reasonable care and authorize them to process personal data only to the extent necessary for the relevant service.
If we add or materially change service providers in a way that materially changes how personal information is handled, we will update this Privacy Policy.
Some service providers may process data in countries outside Japan.
Where applicable, we take reasonable and appropriate measures required by applicable data protection laws in connection with international processing and transfers.
RIBMA may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for login status, language preferences, security, purchased-access recognition, on-device storage of journals and other content you enter, or other service functionality.
If we introduce non-essential tracking or advertising technologies that require consent under applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice and consent controls.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the service, performing contracts, meeting legal, tax, or accounting obligations, protecting security, and resolving disputes.
When information is no longer required, we will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature and scale of the information we process, including measures such as:
We do not disclose security details where doing so could undermine the effectiveness of those safeguards.
We do not sell personal data.
We do not disclose personal data to third parties without consent except where:
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request information about our processing of your personal data and to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, suspension of use, or cessation of third-party disclosure.
To make a request, contact hello@ribma.jp. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity.
If applicable law does not permit us to fulfill a request, we will explain the reason where required.

Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to data portability, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
If you are a minor under the law of your place of residence, you should use or purchase RIBMA only with any consent required from a parent or legal guardian.
We may update this Privacy Policy when RIBMA, our technology, service providers, or applicable laws change.
Material changes will be communicated through RIBMA or by another appropriate method.
